Apr 20 - Rhoda Receives CBE And Honours Board Makes Final Call For Nominations

At a Royal Ceremony on Friday 6th March, Mr Reginald (Ricky) Rhoda QC was invested by Her Majesty the Queen to be a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for public services to Gibraltar and the law. Speaking after the event, Mr Rhoda said:

‘The Investiture was a truly memorable event. It was very much a family affair, in that my wife, daughter and I went from Gibraltar and my son flew over from Hong Kong to be there. The actual Investiture took place at Windsor Castle which I had chosen deliberately as I had been told that it was a smaller and more personal event than those held at Buckingham Palace. I was not disappointed. I was very lucky in that the Queen presented me with my award. I was doubly fortunate in that a week previously I had been a guest at a reception at Buckingham Palace, hosted by the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, where I had met Her Majesty.’

The Gibraltar Honours Board will meet again in May 2015 and wishes to make a final call for nominations. Nominations to be considered at the next meeting should be submitted as soon as possible but no later than 8th May 2015.
