European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for ForeignAffairs José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels on Thursday 16th May.
I haven’t really had much time to think lately, especially because I have a lot of things to think about; and I tend to shut down, get in bed and hope I can solve all my issues during my morning shower. Last October I wrote a bunch of things I had been thinking about and as I mentioned then my morning routine is when I think best, so here are a few more things I’ve thought about probably sometime between 7am and 9am.
Following comments made by Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo insisting that the application to Gibraltar of EU law on civil aviation should be subject to a bilateral agreement between the UK and Spain, the Government has claimed that ‘pain should be made to honour its obligations under the EU Treaties and the agreement that they entered into at Cordoba in 2006’.
Tourism Minister Samantha Sacramento yesterday attended the naming celebrations of P&O Cruises’ new vessel ‘Britannia’. The vessel will visit Gibraltar during her maiden voyage later this month. She did already call in on Gibraltar after leaving the shipyard in Italy, in order to carry out technical works.
On Sunday 8th March, in Trafalgar Cemetery, a plaque in the memory of a Friend of Gibraltar, Richard Wells CBE, was blessed by Reverend Charles Howard with Richard's widow Ditte and son George in attendance.
