The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
Environment Minister Dr John Cortes launched Gibraltar’s Geoportal this morning. The web project provides vast amounts of geographical data on Gibraltar including aerial views, land use details and even geological features. The Geoportal is part of the Government’s drive to transpose and implement all EU directives and will provide tourists, researchers, planners and the curious with an ever-evolving and in-depth picture of Gibraltar.
The GSD would introduce means testing for all those wishing to apply for government housing if voted into office at the next election. That was the main message of a press conference held this morning at the party’s headquarters in College Lane.
