The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
This morning Minister Neil Costa launched the Ministry for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port’s website, designed and developed by Piranha Designed. The site features press releases and podcasts outlining projects being carried out by the Ministry, including the recently discussed beach regeneration programme.
The GSD has today called upon the Government to make a statement as to when it intends to reform the legal aid and legal assistance rules in order to make it fairer for all.
The Cross Frontier Group, made up of Trade Union and business representatives from both sides of the border, have agreed to write to the European Commission in order to point out ‘the non compliance of the time limit set to normalise this matter and to ask for definitive action which would guarantee the rights of Citizens in this area of the EU.’
