police authority The Chief Minister and Governor were written to recently by a person making ‘allegations against certain officers of the RGP and against the RGP as an institution’ after they attended a recent RGP selection weekend.

Exercising their powers under the Police Act, the Governor and Chief Minister agreed to this morning meet with Gibraltar Police Authority Chairman, Mr john Goncalves, as well as the Commissioner of Police, Eddie Yome.

Dec 16 - GWMF Invites Contestants for 2015 edition

GWMF - Gibraltar 2015 InvitationThe Gibraltar World Music Festival has opened it’s books, for the 2015 competition, to all professional artist and the general public. The competition, which will be held next year, has the theme Khamsa. 
 
Khamsa stands for ‘Five’ in Arabic, and in symbology, the open right hand, has a significant usage as a sign of protection throughout history. The symbol is thought to provide defence against the evil eye and will feature as the main theme in this fourth edition of the GWMF.
 
The invitations to participate is open to all, for all artistic expressions. The competition boasts public exposure in Gibraltar, through an exhibition of works (to be shown in Irish Town and the winner will receive £200, a night stay at the Sunborn Hotel and two tickets for the festival. 
 
All entries must be processed by the 15th February 2015.
