The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Gibraltar Heritage Trust will be holding a second Book Signing Event on Wednesday 7th February with Manolo Galliano and Victor Hermida, authors of Beyond the Ramparts: The History Gibraltar’s Roads, Streets and Lanes beyond the City Walls, at the Main Guard between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
The Government says it continues to “underscore its commitment to fostering fiscal responsibility and fairness in taxation” in unveiling an amendment aimed at modernising the existing tax legislation.
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has said that the Government remains fully committed to a treaty which governs Gibraltar’s relationship with the European Union.
Speaking in Brussels to a meeting of the UK-EU Committee of the Regions Contact Group, Dr Garcia expressed the hope that an agreement would be arrived at soon.
Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, has announced the programme for the 2024 Gibraltar International Drama Festival that will be held from Monday 11th to Saturday 16th March 2024.
