The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
In order to help deliver the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission 2015 Strategic plan effectively, the Commission will see a restructure of senior positions as of January 1st 2015. The restructure aims to support the ‘efficient and effective delivery of the FSC’s authorisation, supervision and enforcement activity’.
Phase one of refurbishment works to St. Joseph’s Estate has seen essential external repairs including a new playground for toddler’s, and the re-surfacing of pavers access walkways recently completed.
Other works include the resurfacing of the upper east area parking bays and the rationalization of the drainage, in order to present ponding. Extensive repairs to walls around the estate have been carried out.
