Number Six has said that the GSD is “once again playing semantic games” with the important issue of LNG storage and supply.

The GSD has said that Fabian Picardo “must believe the people of Gibraltar are stupid.” In what the party describes as “an extraordinary interview” on GBC, the GSD says that Mr Picardo has admitted that the Government has no safety report, and never has had a safety report, for either the LNG power station or the proposed LNG bunkering installations. The Opposition says that Mr Picardo “tried to excuse this” by saying that the project was not yet mature and that you could not produce safety reports until the precise details of the project were known. The GSD, however, argues that this explanation “ignores two important facts.”
The GSD says it has long supported the work being done at Bruce’s Farm and will continue to welcome initiatives which improve the lives of people who have been afflicted by the harmful effects of addiction. The party says that it should be recalled that it was a GSD administration that opened Bruce’s Farm and also introduced mandatory drugs testing both in prison and as part of the parole process which helps keep people clean of drugs. Party Spokesman for Rehabilitation of Offenders Elliott Phillips and the Leader of the Party Daniel Feetham, have spoken with a number of stakeholders and former addicts in order to understand the problems being experienced and look at ways the service can be improved.
