The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Government notes the latest statement from the Spark Group of Companies. The Chief Minister says that he has made the Government’s position on this issue “extremely clear” during his addresses in Parliament on the subject.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, this morning briefed a number of European Parliament assistants on current issues affecting Gibraltar and the European Union.

Mr Speaker, as always, it is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to deliver my Budget Address in this House. This speech marks my eighth Budget contribution as a Member of Parliament and my fourth as a Government Minister. It is however, Mr Speaker, my first Budget Address as Minister with responsibilities for Business, Employment, Skills, Postal Services and the Department of Social Security.
