  • Man Arrested In Relation To Data Breach

    A man was arrested at 07:40am this morning at a residence in the South District in  relation to a public enquiry regarding a data breach. The local man, 56, was arrested on suspicion of: 

    • Conspiracy to Obtain Unauthorised Access to Computer Material, Contrary to S362 Crimes Act 2011 & Crimes Act 2011.
    • Misconduct in Public Office, Contrary to Common Law
    • Unlawful Obtaining of Personal Data, Contrary to S175 Data Protection Act His arrest relates to a serious data breach.

Senior Officers Attend CBRN Strategic Command Course

Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service’s Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Mr Matthew Payas and the Airport  Fire and Rescue Service’s Deputy Senior Fire Office, Mr Adrian Hernandez recently attended a  Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Strategic Command Course at National  CBRN Centre which is part of the UK’s Counter Terrorism Policing.

Changes To COVID-19 Self-Isolation Requirements

The COVID-19 Strategic Coordinating Group, on the advice of the Director of Public Health, has recommended that the legal requirement to self-isolate when testing positive for COVID-19 be removed. 

Therefore, with effect from Friday 17th March 2023, those who test positive for COVID-19 will be under no legal requirement to self-isolate. However, the advice of the Director of Public Health remains to stay at home for 5 days until tests return negative, up to a maximum of 10 days. Limit interactions with others, especially with those who are immunosuppressed and vulnerable members of our community.
