It’s Friday, it’s hot, I’ve had a long week and to be honest with you, I really want to go home! That said though, I have decided to give my blog a very chilled out, Friday vibe. By that I mean that I am not going to write about anything serious or anything important today. Instead Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, I am going to talk about, the ONE, the ONLY....... Chuck Norris!

I have been talking with my team, we have brainstormed and we came up with a shortlist of lots of things that we could talk about today. After I scrunched up the list, threw it in the bin, I felt powerful and great and that reminded me of Chuck Norris. Now that is what you call inspiration.

“There is no theory of evolution, just a list of creatures Chuck Norris allows to live.”

Is the fishing dispute about to kick off again?

It’s been a quiet week or so for the fishing dispute, after the recent meeting where Chief Minister Fabian Picardo decided that until a full report was published no final decision would be made. From various news sources in Spain, as well as Political groups on social networks, it would seem that the Spanish are happy to be back in our waters fishing again as if it had all been sorted.

Now I am no political expert, but after this fishing debacle calmed down a bit, the queues seemed to get a little bit better didn’t they? Also, wasn’t the decision made that they could continue to fish until the final report came out and a decision was made in November? An excerpt from a Government press release:

“The Chief Minister made clear that the Government will await the recommendations of the Commission’s report before deciding whether any further data is required by the Government.  If further data is required, the Government will expect to have all such data provided by the end of November.

I’ve been looking back over the blogs to see what some of the most popular subjects have been over the past 9 months... Oh yeah, that’s right, YGTV has now been going strong for nine months (started on the 11th November 2011 - 11.11.11) in which time we have had over 236,000 hits. In that time, the blog has gone from strength to strength.

Gibraltar JellyfishJellyfish - enough said!

This summer has been atrocious for beach dwellers due to the large number of jellyfish floating around. I have been disappointed to say the least, as neither my tan nor my snorkelling has got any better this year at the beach.

So I started thinking, why is it that we don’t usually have this many jellyfish in Gibraltar every year, what has happened this year? No, I’m no marine biologist and I don’t pretend to be, but i wanted to do my best to come up with some interesting facts about these horrible, annoying, summer wrecking creatures.

When is enough, enough? I started thinking about this over the weekend. I keep thinking about the fictional characters, Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne, possibly two of the richest comic book characters you can find. But both men, having reached, or inherited, the ultimate fortune, having access to the elite of society and pretty much being able to have anything you want, as and when you want it must get tiresome, wouldn’t it?
