Women in important professional positions...

Now before any of you start to tut, think I am sexist or that I am planning on belittling women in the workplace, read the blog first. You may be surprised.

“Yahoo hires Marissa Mayer as their new CEO.” - in the tech world this has been a huge story, for those of you that haven’t heard about it, it’s because it probably really doesn't bother you in any way. People are talking about it and no one knows what could happen next. Yahoo has found themselves in a dangerous position where they are trailing behind Google and even behind Facebook. What can they do to make it better?

It’s August, it’s hot and from what it seems there isn’t much news today. Why is that? It’s a normal day, like any other, businesses are open, government are... governing things, opposition are... opposing things, civil servants are... serving... no wait it’s nearly 14:30 they are at the beach!

After talking for about an hour, he came up with a very good point:

“Google are taking over the world!”

I said, “nonsense my good man, they simply want to increase the product range and continually better their offering, which, at the end of the day, benefits us.”

To which he replied, “here are three examples” and to his credit he made me see his point very quickly. I am going to try and summarise an hour’s conversation in to this blog, if I can.

Healthy Eating… Is it really?

This morning I feel inspired to tell you about a friend of mine. Now to protect the innocent blah blah blah I’m not going to use his real name, but for the sake of the story let’s say that the other day I had lunch with a good friend, Timmy!

So, who is Timmy? Timmy is in his early thirties; he is very physically fit and is required to be for his job. His eating habits, over the past 10 years that I have known him, have put Hobbits to shame. This is someone who I once saw eat 3 McDonald’s meals in one sitting.
