This time last week I was putting in my last few hours of the week in the office, excited for the jam-packed weekend ahead. I had a friend’s birthday dinner and night out planned for the evening, the Gib Talks event in the morning and a relaxed Sunday with Leslie Knope and the rest of the gang at Pawnee, Indiana’s Parks and Recreation department. After a week of work nothing seemed more appealing; I was ready to take on the weekend with courage. I wish I had known how I feel about it now, then. I had a particularly heavy night, an alarm for half-eight in the morning on the Saturday, met up with my writing buddies Mike and Shameem (the same one from here) and somehow managed to make it to the John Mackintosh Hall without collapsing. I was dying. But I was determined to have a great weekend and part of that was watching every talk at the Gib Talks event, of course with preference to some over others. Long story short the event was a success, everybody loved it and I was convinced (and still am) that the half-eight in the morning alarm was the way to go. Good job!
Yesterday afternoon, armed officers of the RGP’s Crime & Protective Services Division mounted an operation which resulted in the arrest of 34 year-old British national David PILKINGTON of Heathfield House on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition, namely a Gammo P- 800 Air Pistol with 65 pellets.

The Government has confirmed that it has now received Rt Hon Sir Jonathan Parker's report of the inquiry into the Dr Giraldi Home which was established by terms of reference set out by the Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo in October 2012 under the Commissions of inquiry Act.
The Governor, Sir James Dutton, visited the Tradewise Chess Festival this afternoon. He was accompanied by his wife Lady Dutton.
Gibraltar Finance will be hosting a financial services lunch in Zurich as part of the 2015 Gibraltar Day in Zurich calendar of events. During their in Zurich, the team at Gibraltar Finance, made up of Minister Albert Isola, Managing Director and Senior Executive James Tipping and Philip Canessa will attend and exhibit at FINANZ’15. The conference with also be attended by members of the Gibraltar Funds and Investments Association on 4th and 5th February 2015.
Julie Girling MEP, who represents South West England and Gibraltar, has called on MEPs to reverse any move which seeks to exclude Gibraltar from European aviation measures.
