As a final chapter in the Cavalcade sweets saga, it has been revealed today that sweets will in fact continue to be distributed at the Three Kings Cavalcade. Sweets will now be personally handed out to spectators instead of being thrown at them from the floats.
Details released by the UK’s National Archives today have revealed that in 1983 Spanish Monarch, King Juan Carlos told former British Ambassador to Spain, Sir Richard Parsons, that he ‘did not want Gibraltar back’ as it could lead to Morocco activating their claim to Spanish enclaves, Ceuta and Melilla.
The RGP has warned that during Sunday’s Three Kings Cavalcade, no traffic will allowed onto John Mackintosh Square from Linewall Road, as from 6:30pm. As from 8pm, no vehicles will allowed to pass along Linewall Road from the junction on Casemates Hill, to cathedral Square.
The 3 Kings Cavalcade will once again sport a designated area with chairs for elderly and disabled members of the community. The area will also provide space for wheelchairs.
The Government has noted that access to the area will be on a first come first served basis, and those who wish to make use of this area can be accompanied by one other person and will need to produce their blue badge on the day.
