Jan 02 - Solar Lighting for Gibraltar Bus Stops
Following a recent announcement that the Government has installed disabled friendly ramps at all of Gibraltar’s bus stops, the Bus Company will soon install solar powered lights. A trial basis will commence mid January at the Market Place bus terminal. On Saturday 18th January all buss services will be transferred to Waterport Road, in order to allow works to be carried out.
Commenting on the project, Public Transport Minister Neil Costa insisted that the installation of environmentally friendly solar lighting in bus shelters was a political commitment of the GSLP/ Liberal Government. He believes that the entire project should be completed by next year.
The process went out to tender last year and will be welcomed by both bus users and the Government.
