Feb 23 - GSD Continues to Drive LNG Installation Issues

gsd The Opposition has raised further concerns about the use of Liquified Natural Gas near populated areas. The party insists that the Government has made the decision to locate the LNG installation in the Detached or North Mole, without having the necessary safety reports beforehand. They further added that ‘It is obvious from the Government’s own communiqués that all the necessary health and safety reports (including gas cloud models and blast risk assessments) were not obtained before the decision to build an LNG Installation at the Detached or the North Mole was made.’

Feb 19 – Government Says GSD Is “Obsessed With Sensationalising” LNG Risks

The Government says it notes the GSD’s “latest attempt at de-railing plans” for the new dual-fired power station and potential liquefied natural gas bunkering opportunities. The Government says that the original contract with Bouygues was for the design, build and all safety reports associated with the proposed power station. The Government says it is not in a position to be able to publish these reports at this time due to the commercially-sensitive information they contain, but their existence can be confirmed by its external, independent consultants.
