The Government has accused the Leader of the Opposition’s attempts to ‘explain away the failure of his Government to tackle the problem with electricity generation and infrastructure are feeble and unconvincing’.
A No.6 statement touched upon Mr. Feetham’s recent GBC interview, during which he insisted that the Manx Energy Report, made public yesterday, was dated 2004/2005 instead of 1999, as the Government originally claimed it was, ‘in order to justify the fact that the GSD put plans in motion by 2007’.
A report published today by the Government, reveals that in 1999, twelve years before the previous administration left office, they were aware that ‘by 2010 the engines available at Waterport Power Station would be unable to cope with demand.’
