As part of the new Governor’s familiarisation contacts with the community, Sir James Dutton will be paying a courtesy visit to all the offices of the Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port, Neil Costa on July 22nd.
The Government has replied to the latest advertisement from the GSD published in the Gibraltar Chronicle. In a statement released this afternoon, Number 6 says that the advert “shows Mr Feetham really scratching the bottom of the barrel.”
The GSD has said that Mr Picardo's “obsession with responding to every advert” they have placed in the Gibraltar Chronicle continues. The party says that the Chief Minister is clearly concerned that people will object to his expensive and lavish political lifestyle. The party argues that Mr Picardo’s “latest attempt to excuse the excessive spending at No6 Convent Place is to deny figures, which have always been published by every Government at Budget time.”
The Government has said that it welcomes the Recommendation of the European Commission on Common Principles for the protection of consumers using online gambling services and the prevention of underage gambling. Responsible cooperation and regulation is essential, it says, in ensuring real consumer protection across borders.
Commenting on this morning’s power cut, which the Government has insisted stems from a fault in stability in the network, the GSD Opposition today said that the outages ‘are a serious problem not just for the quality of life of all residents in Gibraltar but also for the business community’.
