Passano Opticians would like to introduce our new optometrist Miss Christine Ferguson BSc (Hons) MCOptom, who has recently started with us. Christine has many years of experience in the field of optometry and constantly strives to further her knowledge and expertise as much as possible.
After qualifying from Glasgow in 2009 she has worked in a range of optometry settings including independent opticians, larger multiples such as Boots Opticians and also within the hospital environment. Christine has spent the last 4 years working for both the private and GHA hospital sector within Gibraltar.
Her role includes assessing adult and children's vision, examining the anterior eye and diagnosing conditions such as dry eye and red eye concerns and infections. Posterior eye conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration are also screened for.
With a keen interest in contact lenses, Christine fits lenses for a wide range of patients including complex cases that require specialist lenses. She is currently completing an additional qualification focussed on treating red eye infections and glaucoma management.
