Members from across the four youth clubs recently came together to attend a live session of Gibraltar Parliament, marking a significant step in fostering active citizenship amongst young people.
Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture, Tourism and Youth, The Hon. Christian Santos GMD MP is working to empower young individuals and encourage their participation in civic life, aligning with the objectives of the Youth Strategy.
The visit was part of ongoing efforts to engage young people in the democratic process and to provide them with first-hand experience of Parliamentary proceedings. Participants had the opportunity to observe the workings of Parliament and gain insights into the democratic process. This experience is expected to inspire members to become more engaged in civic activities and to contribute positively to the community.
The Youth Symposium, a platform for young people to voice their opinions and discuss issues affecting them, continues to play a pivotal role in influencing policies and initiatives that impact the youth of Gibraltar. Through such engagements, the Youth Service remains committed to nurturing informed, responsible, and active citizens who are equipped to contribute to the betterment of society.
