Students who have returned to Gibraltar for the holidays are being “strongly encouraged” by the Government to take up the offer of a booster vaccination against COVID-19 before they return to the UK.
The Gibraltar Disability Rights Federation (GDRF) says it “wholeheartedly supports” secure employment contracts for Health and Care Workers and an Independent Care Quality Commission to provide a better level of continuity of care for persons with disabilities and will therefore support Unite’s demonstration on Monday 10th January.
Unite the union has said that the results of the its GHA stress survey demonstrate the “low morale and exhaustion that staff are feeling.”
The Government has said that, in view of the much higher level of transmission of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, and on the advice of the Director of Public Health, the Department of Education is "strongly recommending" that children in secondary schools should wear masks while in school, including in classrooms as well as corridors and common areas.
The Disability Society has noted Unite the Union’s recent press release regarding short term and insecure employment contracts.
