The Government says it notes that the Government of Hong Kong has taken the decision to not allow any non- Hong Kong residents who have been to Gibraltar in the last 21 days to enter Hong Kong as from midnight of 17th December.

As cases of the Omicron variant continue to soar in the United Kingdom, the Government, on the advice of the Director of Public Health, now requires all air arrivals from a non-Red List country to take a lateral flow test on the day of arrival. This is opposed to the current option of having up to 24 hours in which to take the test. This requirement is effective from today, Friday 17th December 2021, and applies to everyone aged 12 years and over.
Unite the union, representing members in the Gibraltar Ambulance Service (GAS) have today highlighted what they describe as “serious issues” within GAS that are being “repeatedly ignored” by the GHA and the Ministry for Health. These issues range from staffing levels in the service, stress and anxiety arising from increased workloads linked to understaffing, deficient equipment and vehicles, poor workplace facilities and a number of operational claims that have "gone unanswered."
