This November will see Gibraltar’s first ever annual golf tournament, held here, on the Rock.
YGTV and the Golf Box are calling on all golf players in the area to sign up for the competition. The tournament will be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of November. The competition will consist of three rounds of three holes per round.
The Minister for Sport and Leisure, Steven Linares, has today announced that, as part of the policy to develop tourism through sports and leisure events, arrangements have been completed for Gibraltar’s first Backgammon Festival.
The event will be held between the 14th and 20th October 2013. On 14th and 15th a local qualifying event will be organised by a group of local backgammon enthusiasts, working to develop backgammon in Gibraltar. The venue selected by them is Latino’s at Casemates.
The Gibraltar Sports & Leisure Authority is working in partnership with the Physical Activities Association for Mature Older Adults (PAAMOA) to provide a programme of activities aimed at ensuring that we ‘Look After Ourselves’ and continue to live a happy, healthy and active lifestyle into the future.
As the Gibraltar Football Association finds itself busier and busier, local support continues to reign with Sports Minister Steven Linares today unveiling a post-box hand painted in GFA colours emblazoned with the club’s badge.
This Sunday, as from 1pm, The Gibraltar Gaels will host a free Open Day at the Victoria Stadium, in order to showcase Gaelic Football to prospective players in Gibraltar.
The team holds the title for current Andalucían Gaelic Football Champions and will begin training for the season ahead in the coming weeks. The Gaels encourage anyone of any ability, to come along and try out.
