During a close match against Malta, played in Gibraltar’s current home stadium in Faro yesterday evening, the Gibraltar National Team took home their first victory, with Kyle Casciaro scoring the only goal of the match in the 66th minute.
May 30 - Wiseman To Miss Malta Game
Scott Wiseman has been released from the Gibraltar National Squad for the game against Malta. Wiseman has reportedly had “an extremely tough season” and in conjunction with Preston North End FC, the Gibraltar FA have released him to allow him to properly recover from an injury he has been carrying for some time now, which has not fully healed.
May 29 - Sainsbury’s School Games Challenges Gibraltar’s Best Athletes
The Sainsbury's School Games in the UK has thrown down the challenge to Gibraltar's best young athletes inviting them to compete in this year's Games in Manchester in September. The School Games are an annual, major, multi-sport, Olympic/Paralympic-style event involving 1,500 young people from across the United Kingdom and Overseas Territories taking part in a variety of sports over 3-4 days.
May 27 - GFA Draws 1 -1 with Estonia in International Friendly
The Gibraltar Football Association impressed this weekend at an away friendly with Estonia at the ‘Le Coq Arena’ that resulted in a 1 – 1 draw. Before the game, the team was subjected to a 14 hour delay at Frankfurt Airport, which caused them to sacrifice two training session and disrupt many of the players’ hydration and fatigue levels.
