The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
Independent MP Marlene Hassan Nahon says she welcomes the Mental Health’s Society call for greater preventive care for mental health issues, particularly those affecting children and young people. She adds that these concerns echo those she expressed in the recent parliamentary motion on local mental health services, and says she is pleased to see that these have been highlighted further.
The GSD has said that the explanations provided by the Government regarding the shortage of beds in the Hospital over the festive period “simply do not stack up.”
