The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
Gibraltar will once again commemorate this year’s Earth Hour on Saturday 29th March. The hour brings together communities from around the world celebrating a commitment to the planet by switching off lights for an hour between 8:30 pm and 9:30pm.
In Gibraltar, the Government has arranged for the Rock’s North face floodlights and lights on the Moorish Castle to be switched off for the entire weekend.
During this morning’s Development and Planning Commission it was confirmed by the panel that the next meeting on April 8th will see the applicants of the Europa Point Stadium present their project to the Commission, and any objectors who formally requested inclusion in the meeting will follow with any objections they may have.
Gibraltar is set to launch a judicial review on the UK government’s Point of Consumption tax regulatory model, which will be passed over the next couple of weeks.
