The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment will this year grant a total of €450,000 in state aid to Spanish fishermen from La Linea and Algeciras who are unable to work in waters surrounding the Rock because of the continuous “harassment” by Gibraltar law enforcement agencies.
On 22nd December 2015 the draft Bill to amend the Marriage Act was published as a Command Paper for public consultation. This is the start of the consultation in the legislative process; the stage before the proposal becomes a Bill for consideration and debate in Parliament.
Formed in 2009, the Gibraltar Cadets are inviting boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17 to join their unit. The 7th intake of Gibraltar cadets will take place on Wednesday 20th January at 1900 hours at the Buffadero Training Camp, and anybody considering joining the Cadets is strongly encouraged to attend with their parents and guardians.
