The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Government has described the Opposition’s criticism of the allocation process for the new affordable housing schemes as a “naked attempt” by Mr Feetham's party to “ride on the back of unsubstantiated rumours on social media” about alleged allocations, all of which, it stresses, “are untrue.”
The Special Olympics Gibraltar Football Team have been invited to participate in the Gareth Cowin Memorial Trophy to be held in Liverpool. This tournament has been organised by the SO Isle of Man and Isle of Man FA club. The teams participating are: Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City 1, Manchester City 2, Pontefract, Bradford, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
The GSD says it has noted Mr Picardo’s comments in the press “decrying” the cost of remedial works to projects built during the GSD’s tenure in office. The party says that Mr Picardo “conveniently forgets” that it cost the GSD Government over £20 million to put right the poor workmanship in estates such as Westside 1, Westside 2 and Brympton to name but a few.
