Number Six has said that it was not aware that two uniformed Spanish Civil Guards would be attending the Queen’s Birthday Parade at Casemates or the Queen’s Garden Party at The Convent yesterday.
The Convent has issued the following statement following yesterday’s surprise visit by two uniformed officers from the Guardia Civil who attended the Queen’s Birthday Parade and Garden Party.

The Opposition says that this is “another blatant attempt to divert attention from the real issue, which is that the Government is placing large parts of Gibraltar and its population at risk by ploughing ahead with an LNG project that according to Lloyd's Register ‘presents high risks, some significantly greater than those found to be acceptable for conventional LNG marine storage terminals’.”
