The local branch of the teachers’ union GTA/NASUWT says that after the recent news reports regarding the possible restructure of Government Human Resources Department and the positioning of its other union colleagues, it is important to state what its views are on the matter. The union says it has 500 members working in Government schools, all of whom are civil servants and all of whom use the Government Human Resources Department. NASUWT says that the fact that civil servants are not only clerical and admin workers is often overlooked. After all, it notes, the current Chief Secretary was a teacher.
The GSD has today called for the issue of the Government-endorsed Europa Point Stadium proposals to be decided before the next General Election so that the Electorate knows where the GSLP/Liberals stand on the issue.
The party claims that having been over a year since the GFA published their initial proposal for the stadium at Europa Point, then was put before the DPC, there have been no revised plans submitted to the DPC, or alternative sites identified publicly.

As part of the modernization and digitization of the Government’s Employment Department, Minister Neil Costa today revealed a new system for the Labour inspectorate to work under. The revamped team will include a Senior Labour Inspector, two inspectors and two support inspectors. They will be tasked with ensuring that employers in Gibraltar are meeting all regulations via a new programme of inspection that is being developed.
