The Government has welcomed the fact that the Spanish authorities have admitted to the European Commission that they have caused the sewage pollution which affects Western Beach.
The Minister for the Port, Neil Costa, has expressed great confidence regarding the Port of Gibraltar’s potential for further expansion, following his official visit to Hong Kong.
Reacting to misleading reports in parts of the Spanish media yesterday afternoon about the outcome of Transport Council meetings earlier today, the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo said: "Reports in some media are inaccurate. The Treaty position remains firm. We will continue to work with the UK and future Presidency to reach a position which is compatible with EU law."
The Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Feetham, was yesterday in Ronda to deliver a speech on Gibraltar to the Colectivo Cultural de Ronda Giner de Los Rios. Mr Feetham also participated in a press conference organised by the President of the PSOE in Ronda Mr Alvaro Alcaide Guerrero at which all the major television and radio channels of the region attended, including Canal Sur and Cadena Ser.
The Chief Minister says he notes the statement from the GSD which he says seeks to imply that he somehow designed a budget measure in relation to sunglasses to favour his own business.
