With school Summer holidays now in full swing, the GSLA’s annual Summer Sports programme kicks off this morning offering youngsters the opportunity to partake in a spectrum of activities including, volleyball, journalism and creative writing, football, mini basketball, ju-jitsu, ice skating, chess, swimming, tennis, the RGP summer camp, arts and crafts, cricket, and the ever popular sports train.
Bayside School’s Special Education Needs Department recently celebrated the work of students involved in the Awards Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), a British charity organization with awarding body status. It provides educational opportunities for young people, in particular helping learners to develop their personal and social attributes through its awards programme and qualifications.
The Ministry of Culture and the Ministry for Equality have been aware for some time that wheelchair users are unable to see parades and local events. As a consequence, the two ministries have been working together for the last year to identify a suitable viewing platform for wheelchair users.

After 18 months as Commander of British Forces for Gibraltar, we interviewed Commodore Clink before he leaves the Rock to take up the post of Rear Admiral.
YGTV: What are your reflections on your time as Commander of British Forces in Gibraltar?
Commodore Clink: I’ve had a fantastic time here – it’s been a real privilege to command around 1,000 people from the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. More than half of the people here are locally employed and they are a key component in a really tight team and we use that team every day to support the armed forces as they come through Gibraltar on their way to operations. I am very proud of what we’ve achieved.
The FSC says it has received numerous emails purporting to have been sent by Jyske Bank in Gibraltar.
The Government says it is astonished by the continued criticism by the GSD on the subject of legal aid and legal assistance adding that this is clearly just an “attempt to be populist despite the facts.”
