A Comic Relief Cake Sale, held at RAF Gibraltar yesterday, raised £150 in aid of the Red Nose Day Charity. Steph Ball of the Met Office organised the event with her colleagues Katrina and Heloise of Air Traffic Control.
After a loss of power in both the standard and back up generators at the Air Traffic Control centre this morning, easyJet flight EZY8903 was diverted to Malaga Airport following Civil Aviation regulations.
In collaboration with the Ministry for Culture, Santos Production has announced the return of the Teatro Lirico Andaluz, to Gibraltar, for a set of performances during the Spring Festival.
The Teatro Lirico Andaluz will stage their production of the famous and very popular ‘Doña Francisquita’. Boasting a stellar cast and a 24 piece orchestra, artists including Ruth Terán and Luis Pacetti are set to play characters Francisquita and Fernando.
British Forces Gibraltar wives Lisa Blofield, Sue Drayton and Clare Fawcett are organizing a mass charity Mediterranean Steps Walk in aid of SSAFA Forces Help Gibraltar and Childline Gibraltar.

Twenty-eight proud members of the Ambulance Service with experience ranging from between six to fourteen years of ambulance work were presented the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal on the 13th March at Bleak House by the Minister for Health John Cortes.
The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a commemorative medal created in 2011 to mark the 60th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II. As part of the Queen’s Jubilee, emergency service personnel that have completed 5 full calendar years of service on 5th February 2012 qualify for the Queen’s Jubilee medal.
