The Government has announced they will temporarily close Gibraltar House in London in the face of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Gibraltar House in Brussels will remain open for the time being.
As Gibraltar’s public service broadcaster, GBC says it is ensuring to keep the local community fully informed on Covid19 through all its platforms.
The Cruise Liner “World Dream” is planning to carry out a technical call at Gibraltar on the 21st March with no crew members allowed to disembark from the vessel.
Gibraltar Cultural Services has announced, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, and based on Government advice and recommendations from the Director of Public Health, that cultural events will take place as follows:
- Two active cases in Gibraltar
- Restrictions on the movement of over 70s
- Says it’s “only the beginning” and more restrictive measures may be advised in future
- “First duty of Government is the promotion of the safety and security of our people”
- Ward prepared just for suspect cases of COVID 19. Isolation facility ready. Field hospital “ready by the end of the week.”
- “Do not travel to Spain unless it is absolutely necessary.”
- Measures to assist businesses in the hospitality, leisure, distributive and catering sector affected by the restrictions imposed
