The Minister for Youth, Steven Linares, recently met with the Voice of Young People (VYP). VYP discussed issues such as bullying, drug misuse, underage drinking & a need for an Arabic teacher within the education system.
As part of its commitment to the environment, AquaGib Ltd has upgraded part of its water production facilities with a more energy efficient pumping system. The Chief Minster, Fabian Picardo, along with Minister for Environment, John Cortes, visited the AquaGib Reverse Osmosis facility today, with Chris Gomez, Water Production Director giving a presentation on the work that has been completed by the Water Production team.
The Catalan Bay / Traditional Fishing Methods Group says that the recent comments on GBC on longlining by a representative of the Gibraltar Federation of Sea Anglers (GFSA) “cannot go unchallenged” by those who have been using this method of fishing. The group says that it is “hypocritical” for the GFSA to isolate longlining as the sole fishing method responsible for the reduction of certain species.
Two UK-based police federations have expressed their support for the survey undertaken by the Gibraltar Police Federation which revealed widespread concerns about low morale and bullying at the RGP.
