During the last couple of months the Gibraltar Youth Service has been working very closely with the Rotary Club. Young people from the Youth Centre carried out a presentation to Rotary Club members in the hope of securing extra funding for an upcoming Wales Youth Exchange.
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment will fire a 21 Gun Salute at 1200 hrs on Tuesday 10th June to mark the celebration of The Duke of Edinburgh’s 93rd birthday.
The Regiment will execute the Gun Salute at Grand Battery House and the Reviewing Officer will be Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, The Rt Hon Lindsay Hoyle MP.
39 year old local resident Lee Cruz Parry of Royal Sovereign House, Varyl Begg appeared at the Magistrates Court on Tuesday on a charge of Being Knowingly Concerned in the Exportation of Goods from Gibraltar without a permit. He pleaded guilty and was fined £2,000.00.
The Citizens Advice Bureau this morning launched their website here2help.gi, which will act as a bridge for potential volunteers and local charities. The website details many of Gibraltar’s most prominent charities and gives potential volunteers a medium for them to get involved in any specific events being held by the charity, or just in general.
In an effort to expose themselves to as much European culture as possible, the Stevens High School Band of Rapid City South Dakota recently embarked on a two week adventure around Spain and Portugal, performing in public locations for the pure enjoyment of the general public.

48-year-old local man Warren Rae George Don House, Glacis Estate, was arrested during an RGP Drug Squad Operation that came about when a search warrant for his home was aquired. During the search 120 grams of Amphetamine in powder form was recovered.
The Spring Festival annual Short Story Competition once again drew in an impressive number of entries. The overall winner was Rebecca Faller with ‘The Immigrant Widow’, with the Adult Category runner up being awarded to Yvonne Sacarello for ‘Sounds of Change’. Paul McLeod’s piece ‘She’s a Rainbow’ took the highly commended award.
