On Wednesday 18th December, at 10:30 am, at the City Hall, His Worship the Mayor, Anthony Lima, will be receiving the Bethlehem Light of Peace on behalf of the people of Gibraltar. The Light will be presented by the Scouts’ Association (Gibraltar Branch), as has now become traditional, following its collection, this year, from the Movimiento Scouts Catolicos in Sevilla. This year His Worship cordially invites members of the general public who may wish to avail themselves the opportunity of taking a light from the light may do so between the hours of 10.30am and 1pm.

His Worship the Mayor Tony Lima yesterday hosted an afternoon tea to honour eleven students who had completed, and passed Level 2 of their British Sign Language course. The individuals were each presented with their certificates at the reception, which was also attended by members of the Gibraltar Hearing Impaired and Tinnitus Association and Minister for Equality Samantha Sacramento. At the event, His Worship insisted that it was important for him to recognise the very important role that the association has played for those members of the community that are deaf or hard of hearing.
