Commenting on his visit, Minister Licudi noted that the competitive nature of the gaming industry requires constant innovation by operators. He added that with Gibraltar hosting the most important online gaming companies in the world, it is crucial that we keep abreast of new developments in the industry.

Feb 07 - Chief Minister’s Letter in Financial Times

cmWithin this morning’s Financial Times Chief Minister Fabian Picardo’s letter was published.

The letter read, ‘Sir,

Your otherwise excellent editorial for Tuesday 5th February on Argentina and the Falkland Islands is wrong only in one material respect. Successive British Foreign Secretaries have insisted that they will not engage bilaterally with Spain on Gibraltar issues, referring their counterparts to the Trilateral Process for Dialogue in which the UK, Spain and Gibraltar have agreed to discuss all matters of mutual interest except sovereignty.

Feb 07 - Government Responds to Feetham ‘Electoral Fraud’ Comments

govtFollowing his appointment as GSD leader, Daniel Feetham accused the GSLP/ Liberal Government of perpetrating an ‘electoral fraud’ on the electorate, for not being able to deliver their manifesto commitments. The Government has today responded to the claim, noting that it is absurd and betrays a lack of understanding of what happened when the GSD repeated a number of pledges in two General Election manifestos because they were unable to deliver those pledges on time.

Feb 05 - Daniel Feetham - New GSD Leader

feethamYesterday evening, the GSD Executive voted to make former Deputy Leader of the party, Daniel Feetham, the new Leader of the Party. Following his appointment, he gave this statement:

‘Firstly, I would like to thank Damon Bosssino for putting his name forward and demonstrating that anointments of political party leaders in stage-managed meetings are for others. Mr. Bossino is, and remains, a valued and important member of an experienced and talented Parliamentary Opposition, which over the next three years will, I hope, discharge the constitutional duties of Her Majesty’s Opposition in a way that earns the respect and confidence of the people of Gibraltar, as the alternative government.
