A series of drug awareness talks with the theme “Drugs, your choice of life.” delivered to Year 7 children by the RGP’s School Liaison Officers and Mr John Montegriffo of the Care Agency have culminated in an inter-school football tournament. Yesterday the Year 7 girls took to the field at the Hargreaves five-a-side pitch.
The Gibraltar Target Shooting Association this weekend held their Gibraltar Open Championship 2013. Overall winner of the Open was David Phelps of Wales, who proved to be the most consistent over the three days and racked up the most 100s.
The Association claimed that David, the Commonwealth Champion ‘led a cool campaign in a variety of wind and lighting conditions, whilst being humble enough to give advice to the less experienced competitors. A worthy winner and great sportsman. Neil Almond and Martyn Payne, both of England came in second and third place respectively both having shot strongly over the three day event.
On Saturday 8th June, the Juan Chipol 5 Aside Women’s Tournament will be held at the Tercentenary Sports Hall from 10:30 am to 2pm. The five teams taking part will include Manchester Red, who will play Manchester White, College Cosmos who will play College White and College Back, who are set to play against Manchester Red later that morning.

The Government welcomes the admission of the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) into UEFA.
This will provide a huge boost to the development of football locally.
Gibraltar has one of the oldest football associations in the world and it is very fitting that they will finally be able to take their place alongside the rest of the European family of footballing nations.
