ghaAfter many years, the Gibraltar Health Authority will once again be offering training opportunities for all its nurses, which will allow Nursing Assistants to be able to attain the grade of Enrolled Nurse and Registered Nurse locally.

Training to Enrolled Nurse was done away with some years ago. With nurse registration in UK becoming degree-only, it left those, usually young, nurses who did not have A-levels unable to progress in their careers or in their nurse training.

Mar 25 - Nestle Recalls Kit Kat Chunky Bars

kit katNestle customers are being advised about a recall of the company’s Kit Kat Chunky bars and Giant Easter Eggs due to several individuals in the UK reporting small pieces of plastic found in the products.

For precautionary measures the Company has recalled all of the 48g Kit Kat Chunky bars in Peanut butting, hazelnut, choc fudge and caramel with best before dates ranging between September 2013 to February 2014.

Mar 25 - Gibraltar Hedge Funds Attract International Interest

licudiAddressing approximately 300 delegates at the Brazil Hedge Fund Forum, Minister Gilbert Licudi insisted that Gibraltar ‘has now firmly positioned itself as a strong EU alternative to Dublin and Luxembourg for the establishment and management of hedge funds.

Minister Licudi also noted that Gibraltar was now specifically targeting New York and Latin American funds and fund management as it proved to be the jurisdiction of choice in Europe for funds. He added that he expected the funds sector in Gibraltar to grow in a way, which would make Gibraltar a significant player in the global funds industry.

Mar 25 - First Monarch Flight from Birmingham Celebrated

birmingham flightMonarch’s Inaugural flight from Birmingham to Gibraltar was met by Minister for Tourism Neil Costa, along with members of the Tourist Board, including Miss World 2009, Kaiane Aldorino and the Re-Enactment Society, on Saturday morning.

The flight is set to operate between Gibraltar and Birmingham on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays up until the end of April when it will run Sundays instead of Saturdays.
