Oct 28 - Literary Festival Speaker Criticises Government’s Diplomatic Approach

A Madrid-based British journalist described the Chief Minister and the Spanish Foreign Minister as having been engaged in “megaphone diplomacy” over the summer. William Chislett, who delivered a talk during this weekend’s Literary Festival entitled “Spain: What You Need To Know” was responding to a question from the audience. He also said that, in his opinion, the problem that Gibraltar represented for Spain would “never be resolved.”

Oct 28 - GADA Presents ‘Bang Bang Beirut’

gadaThe Gibraltar Amateur Drama Association will be staging their new play, "Bang Bang Beirut", by Ray Cooney and Tony Hilton, as part of the Autumn Festival. Performance days will be Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st October and Saturday 1st November.



Commenting on the performance, a GADA spokesperson noted, ‘again GADA is sticking to their tried and tested formula of offering its audience its usual hilarious evening with this play. An outrageously funny farce set in the lobby and courtyard of a small hotel in the Middle East, where a group of British undercover agents (in a variety of unlikely disguises) are trying to weather a local military coup, while devising a plan to smuggle a young native prince out of danger.

Oct 28 - Gibraltar Volunteers Return From Tanzania After ‘Life-Changing Experience’

Vine Trust Gibraltar’s six-strong volunteer work party have returned from their trip to northern Tanzania. During their two week stay in the African country, they helped to build a 3 roomed home for a disabled father and his family, helped to build a children’s home for 32 orphans who attend a nearby school and created a covered eating and play area at another school.
